What does it mean to be a Catalyst for Systems Change?

Have you heard about collaboratio helvetica’s Catalyst Lab? What does it mean to be a Catalyst? Are you wondering how we combine inner and outer work to generate long-lasting, positive change?

Join us on June 6, 2024, as we come together to discuss how we crafted the learning journey of the Catalyst Lab and why the inner and outer work duality is at the centre of systems change.

Prototyping Mindset

Prototyping as a method of problem solving requires a set of skills and attitudes that are very different to those demanded by traditional planning paradigms. These skills and attitudes require us, as individuals, teams and institutions, to both unlearn old patterns and learn new ways of engaging with the world.

Trauma-informed Patterns and Dynamics

Trauma-informed Patterns and Dynamics

Trauma-informed dynamics are omnipresent. We are all shaped directly or indirectly by dynamics, mindsets, and worldviews that are informed or rooted in trauma-related patterns.

Many current challenges are multilayered. Deeply embedded structures, habitual patterns, and power dynamics allow these challenges to often perpetuate. These patterns and structures are not the sources of, for example, imbalance, injustice, or power abuse, being it in our families, communities, ourselves, or across wide parts of our global society.

Intro to Ecosystem Activation

Intro to Ecosystem Activation

Ecosystem Activation is a concept that has emerged over the last four years of collaboratio helvetica’s work, and that we recognise not only as crucial for systems change work, but also as one of the biggest stumbling blocks for anyone on this journey. We define Ecosystem Activation as the work needed to rally an ecosystem around a common cause, need or potential. It encompasses all outer actions we take to make transformation possible by ensuring the (outer) pre-conditions for systems change work are met (incl. funding, resources, people, access to power). Curious to learn more? Then join this workshop!

Learning Ecology and basic Introduction of the Theory of Change

Times of uncertainty, fast changes, and multiple and interrelated challenges require a high level of adaptability, meaningful responses, and congruence as individuals and teams. How do we learn and make sense of what just happened - being it an official success or failure? How do we capture valuable new thoughts or ideas? How do we integrate our learning and upgrade our parcours of action so that we adequately respond to complex dynamics?

Introduction to System Mapping and the Iceberg Model

The societal challenges that we are facing today are very complex and can feel overwhelming. In this context, the question is: How can we make sense of the complex interrelations in a system? How can we have a look at the bigger picture and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges? Where do we even start when wanting to contribute to a systemic change, how do we find relevant leverage points? In this workshop, you will get an introduction to two frameworks that will help you make sense of the system you are working with: system mapping and the iceberg model.
