Intro to Ecosystem Activation

Ecosystem Activation is a concept that has emerged over the last four years of collaboratio helvetica’s work, and that we recognise not only as crucial  for systems change work, but also as one of the biggest stumbling blocks for anyone on this journey. We define Ecosystem Activation as the work needed to rally an ecosystem around a common cause, need or  potential. It encompasses all outer actions we take to make transformation possible by ensuring the (outer) pre-conditions for systems change work are met (incl. funding, resources, people, access to  power). Curious to learn more? Then join this workshop!

In this workshop you will:

  • Discover what Ecosystem Activation is and entails

  • Learn about the pre-conditions for systems change work, including:

    • the appropriate strategic direction,

    • how to gather the right people and stakeholders,

    • and the needed resources

  • Learn about the basic challenges in all three areas and discover the strategies we developed overtime to overcome them, incl. How we can mutually support each other and lift up unheard voices

  • Reflect on power, real and perceived, and on how to leverage what is available to you to reach the level of legitimacy you need for key stakeholders to engage with you

  • Develop the concrete next steps to activate your ecosystem based on the needs of your projects, work or intentions
